Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua, follows the life of Michael Jackson with a strong central performance from Jaafar Jackson, supported by appearances from figures like Colman Domingo and Nia Long.

The film is at its best when focusing on the music and stage performances, capturing the energy and spectacle that made Jackson such a global icon, and it does a good job of recreating key moments from his career.

However, it can feel a little uneven at times, trying to cover too much of his life without always giving enough depth to the more complex parts of his story.

The Devil Wears Prada 2, directed by David Frankel, brings back Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), with all three delivering confident performances that slip easily back into these well-known roles.

It’s an enjoyable watch with plenty of sharp dialogue and a stylish feel, and it does a good job of tapping into the nostalgia while still feeling reasonably up to date.

That said, it never quite reaches the same level as the original, and at times it leans a bit too heavily on what worked before rather than offering something genuinely new.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin, features strong performances from Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Verónica Falcón, with each bringing a good level of intensity to their roles.

The film works well when it leans into its darker tone, with some genuinely unsettling moments and impressive visuals that give it a fresh edge compared to more traditional versions of the story.

However, the plot can feel a bit predictable in places, and it doesn’t always fully capitalise on the strong atmosphere it builds.
